Anti-Evolutionary
Global Warming is threatening the planet. But we can stop it. We have the technology. We have the capability to put in place innovative technologies. We can create the world's first economy free of fossil fuels. And we can do it in one generation.

Instead of building new polluting power plants, we can use better technology to make our appliances use less energy. When we turn on our lights, the power can come from clean energy sources like wind and solar power instead of an 80 year old polluting coal plant. Making the choice to embrace innovative clean energy solutions would create millions of new jobs, create a stronger economy, a safer world, and a cleaner environment. It will stimulate evolution, instead of protecting fossilized interests, like big energy companies.

Plugging into Clean, Renewable Energy

Clean energy technologies like wind and solar power are up and running. They make power without damaging the air, the water, and the wilderness. By harnessing the energy that occurs naturally all around us, we won't have to build more high-pollution fossil fuel power plants. Making energy without polluting the air we breathe and the water we drink - now that's evolution.

Renewable energy also generates opportunity. A clean energy economy would create 3.3 million new American jobs, bring income to rural communities, and put the US where it belongs-at the forefront of the next century's energy industry.

1. Harnessing the Wind
Modern wind turbines use state of the art aerospace technology to turn wind into electricity. Just one turbine can produce enough power for 500 homes. To capture the full force of the wind, they stand as tall as 300 feet and constantly adjust the angle of their blades.

2. Gathering the Sun
The sun is the ultimate source of power. Every watt of energy stored in the earth's reserves of coal, oil, and natural gas is equal to just 20 days of sunshine. Everyplace you see sunlight is an opportunity to use solar energy. While some places are sunnier than others, most areas receive enough sunshine to make solar energy a powerful source of clean and affordable electricity year-round.

3. Geothermal Energy
The Earth's core is like an inner sun, warming water and rocks that lie beneath the earth's surface. This steaming water and rock can be used to generate heat and electricity. The uppermost six miles of the Earth's crust contains more energy than all the oil and gas reserves in the world. Geothermal energy is abundant, affordable, and available 24/7.

Energy Efficiency (It's so easy, it's absurd)

Instead of building more polluting power plants to fuel our homes, run our appliances, and power factories, we can use existing technology to do the same things with less energy. Becoming energy-efficient is the easiest, cheapest and cleanest way to meet our energy needs. By slowing down the meter, we reduce pollution and avoid the need for new power plants.

Energy efficiency can be as simple as a computer that goes "to sleep" or a compact fluorescent light bulb that uses a quarter of the energy as a conventional bulb. It all adds up. Using existing technology to make air conditioners more energy efficient would avoid the need for to construct more fossil-fuel power plants.
