Tell Congress to Kick the Habit
In his 2006 State of the Union Address, President Bush, a former Texas oil man, admitted that the United States suffers from an oil addiction. Alas, he's already had a relapse. The President's 2007 federal budget request to Congress once again includes revenues from opening the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge to destructive oil drilling.
So much for kicking the habit. President Bush's drill-it-all approach is a tired proposal that was defeated in last year's budget. Congress and the Administration must stop wasting energy on these dead-end drilling schemes and chart a course to a cleaner energy future. Your Representatives have the power to stop this misguided scheme; they just need to hear from you.
Take Action: Please call your Representatives at the Capitol Switchboard 202-224-3121 and urge them to put the controversial issue of drilling in the Arctic Refuge to rest.
Ask them to "Oppose any attempt to use the Budget to open the Arctic to drilling."
